Role: Instructor

Goal: Educate UT Staff on design formatting in Microsoft Word.

Audience: College of Natural Sciences Staff

Process: Professional designers use software such as Adobe Creative Cloud, but simple design techniques can be applied to any word processing software program. By leveraging style sheets, users can create consistent formatting and clear typographical hierarchies.

Solution: I taught a workshop consisting of two parts: the history and principles of graphic design, and the application of design techniques to Word formatting.

Impact: The attendees benefitted from the workshop, now applying their new skills to long-form reports.
